Wow - ok it’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve been able to get on here and update anything! I know it’s shocking that life is busy with four kids. Here is an update on our life.

We’ve been to the pumpkin patch, apple orchard, Burritt on the Mountain for school and so many soccer games I actually can’t count them all! Be sure to check out our homeschool page to hear about our field trips we have taken.

SM is really enjoying the others soccer season as she is friends with several siblings of the kids on the teams so she has a blast playing while the others on the field. We are in the process of trying to find her some really good swimming lessons for the winter. She has managed to come through a small sickness stage in our house unscathed.

TJ is on the Stars for soccer and he has had a great season. He has learned not to be so nice to those with the ball though he still needs a little more aggression he has improved greatly. He has scored in several games and has even more assists. Luckily he has stayed well also through our little bout with colds/sinus issues.

NJ is playing for the Yellow Tigers and for being one of the oldest on her team she is still the smallest. She has scored several times this season and she isn’t afraid to get in the middle of a scuffle. She always has a smile on her face and usually cracks everyone around up as she just grins and runs! She has been hit with a yucky cold but despite having pulled her tubes, so far no ear issues!! Yea!!

LB is just growing like a weed. He has started solid food and I’m pretty sure that he will eat just about anything offered to him! He is eating 2 jars a day and has grown just wonderfully. We went to the doctor on Tuesday and he weighed a wonderful 14 pounds 10 ounces! He is having a ton of congestion and coughing issues that has led to an ear infection and some breathing issues. When he’s well, he sleeps great, but that has been lacking lately. He rolls onto his back all the time at night and I was lucky enough to get it on tape today as he did it for the first time while we are all awake! He talks nonstop, even chuckles now, and is showing some signs of ticklishness under his neck. Wow, does time just fly!

Brian has been monopolizing my computer as we are nearing elections so he has multiple posts to write. I’ll be very happy when this elections season is over and I have my husband back at night!

I have been just been busy teaching, cleaning, raising these monkeys, and just surviving. I’m really loving having the kids around and seeing how much they are learning and growing. We had our weekly trip to Costco today and it took forever as they went around reading all the labels! Ahhh...joys of teaching them to read! Well, I’ve spent as much time as I’m a allotted as the kids are screaming mommy! I’m off to play outside!
NJ turned 4 and holy moly it’s seems crazy that she’s that old! I can’t believe she blessed me that long ago. It seems just like yesterday. Boy, am I a lucky mom!

We took the fam to Auburn on the 18th for the AU - Clemson game. We didn’t stay for the game but we had a blast enjoying the atmosphere and spending time with my sisters who cheer for the other Tigers. We tailgated and ended our wonderful trip with some delicious Toomer’s lemonade. Yum!!

TJ and NJ went to the doctor for the well check up visit the next week and all came back great. They are growing well and the doctor says they look great and to continue feeding them the good food and they’ll continue to grow! He did inform me that all of my kids will end up taller than me and I guess I knew that would eventually be the case! LB even turns 16 weeks this Wednesday - goodness gracious - life flies when you’re having fun!!

We were able to get so much done around the house and even found some time for fun!

Saturday started pretty simple with a soccer practice where no one but us showed up! Oh well, it is what it is. We went to the Botanical Gardens so I could take LB’s 3 month pictures. Also, I realized the other day that I am solely responsible for taking my children’s “school” pictures so I did those too for their school albums. I had fun taking their pictures and my subjects were really good! We went downtown to a new pizza/gelato place on the north side of the square and the gelato was great and the pizza smelled awesome! We’ll be trying their pizza soon no doubt. Then Saturday night we watched the game. Auburn looked really good on offense but seeing as though the SEC is a defense conference, I’m a tad concerned about our defense but we’ll see how the MS State game goes on Thursday.

Sunday, I went to the store and had to buy LB his first cereal. We fed him later that evening and he seemed to really enjoy it! We grilled out and started a fire in our fire pit -LB’s first of many - and made s’mores. Brian and the big three camped out that night and had a blast. LB and I spent a nice night inside the house!

We had a great breakfast Monday morning and then cleaned up around the house and Brian went out and found me a great school table! We even moved the tv out of the school room into our extra room where we added the other laptop with printer and a book shelf for the kids to have their own library. Great little upstairs den for them!

Brian and TJ then took a 2 hour, almost 8 mile ride from a local middle school all the way to the Tennessee River. TJ did awesome and they had so much fun! LB got his first bath in the big tub and he just splashed around repeatedly and finally quit crying. I guess he’ll be a water boy just like the others! Now it’s time to start another crazy week!

I can’t believe it’s been 12 weeks since LB joined our family! It sure doesn’t seem like it’s been that long and then other times it seems like he’s always been with us!

Everyone told me that his newness would wear off however, apparently those people don’t actually know my children and there unending love of babies. LB is still as loved as the day he was born - or maybe even since the day we first told the kids we were having a baby!

He smiles all the time and he even really likes to talk if he can ever get in a word. SM loves to pick him up and carry him around, reminds me of myself with my siblings. TJ needless to say must also do the same as his sister so once LB gets carried around by SM then he must be carried by TJ too. Then of course NJ wants to help despite the fact that LB seems almost as big as her little body is!

LB eats all the time and even got a taste of some local butternut squash the other night since I had made some for dinner and he was interested in my plate. He wasn’t too sure about it but he didn’t seem appalled either. Probably best to start with cereal but I’ve never been very good at following the rules when it comes to the kids and their eating!

Oh well! I’m going to try and get some good 3 month pictures of him this weekend so I’ll post those later but I had to add these pictures of him in the AU outfit. It was the one SM wore in the hospital and is the only AU outfit to have gone through all the kiddos. Crazy to think he’s the last one to wear it, though I’m sure me and my sentimental value will find a way to keep that outfit safe!

I can’t believe how fast time is flying by! TJ turned five last Friday and it seems unreal! I’m not sure that like saying I have a 6 year old and a 5 year old - not to mention the younger two! He had a great birthday and felt really loved! Thanks to everyone who called him and sent such wonderful presents!

After church last week I just had to get some photos down at our park downtown. It was such a nice day, everyone was being so cooperative, and they were all dressed up so cute!

LB is just growing like a weed! He smiles all the time and is a really happy baby. I love to go get him and for him to see me and just smile away! For a while there I didn’t get as many smiles as Daddy and the siblings but now I think I get just as many if not more! Yea for Mommy!!

TJ, in addition to a birthday, is playing soccer and he is loving it. NJ is giving it another go this season however she has been so sick this past month or so that she’s not making it to as many practices as I wish she could. She loves it when she’s out there though and always says she has fun and that’s what matters! SM is still swimming with the aim for swim team next year at our pool. She is a natural fish in the water (yea she got something from her mommy!).

Brian is busy at work and needles to say I’m always sitting! :) I am staying busy and enjoying the return to planning. SM was asked by a kid down the street she knows from last year why she wasn’t in school and her response was, “well, my mom is homeschooling me.” The neighbor asked what that meant and SM responded with “my mom gets to buy lots of school supplies and then she talks to me.” Seems fair enough and anyone who knows me knows how much I’m loving the school supply aspect!
